Next payday will be the start of the rest of my life as I have made my last payment of an extended IVA term today.
For those just starting out, stick with it. yes the early days can be tough and i think ive posted before about times when I hadnt budgeted well in some months and had never been so skint since a teenager, but then i had lived on crredit cards for 20 years and so forgot about the meaning of money.
ive got strange feelings though. immediately after confirming earlier today i was all paid up i felt extatic and am looking forward to getting my life back, even though I cant do this till i next get paid !
Equally, im happy to live life without the need for credit, althoug I do have a desire once my completion certificate arrives ( yes another 3 - 6 months i believe )to see my credit file cleaned up again. not sure why, but like may posters having gone from a near perfect credit history for 20 years and then seeing my score dissapear. Im not ashamed, but certainly regretfull of where I was.
Thanks to all at DFD, who helped me when my income took a 50% drop 4 yrs ago ( hence the need for an extension in term, but it meant I avoided bankruptcy )
I will update all on how long completion certificate takes
