Grrrrrrrrrrrr
I must have had about 10 texts in the last 24 hours about apparently being entitled to x amount of money for the accident I recently had and about PPI claims....STOP STOP STOP!! Firstly, I've not actually had an accident and secondly I have never taken PPI on any cards etc...ok so i like the odd text to make me feel popular but these are just getting annoying now!!!
Rant over [:p]

Texts I don't get, it's the phone calls that annoy me. Texts you can just delete but phone calls are a total nuisance.

I know what you mean vimto I get them too..and the calls - I find myself shouting at the recorded message...which doesn't help! Apparently registering with TPS doesn't make any difference either as the centres are outside of the UK.
I've got a horrible feeling this will go one for quite some time to come too whilst PPI reclaims are such hot business.
Anyone got any hints on anthing that can be done apart from changing contact numbers which is not ideal.

No matter what your mobile number is Tina, these 'slugs' will still manage to get hold of you. They are just blanket calling and really have no idea who the number belongs to. I got between 7 and 20 texts a day from the same number when I, in a dumb moment, replied and said I had not had an accident in the last 3 years. I complained via TPS, who told me they could do nothing.

I thought they were random calls, but they had my name when they called. As I don't give my mobile number out to anyone except friends, family and companies I deal with on the strict instruction that my details are not used for marketing purposes I can only assume someone has sold my details onto these vultures against my wishes but it's proving who did it.

I'm lucky in comparison as I don't get them but can imagine how annoying it is.
I hope it dies down for all of you x

I get loads,of spam emails. I either just delete them or, if they're phishing ones I forward them on tip the appropriate bank if I have their phisbing email address.

A lot of these spam text messages ask you to text the word STOP to stop further messages, it's important that you DON'T do this as it's all part of the scam and just confirms to them that they have a valid phone number to send further texts to!

I do love some of them!! I apparently owe over 900 dollars to Verizon for my phone bill - like I live in the US!! I also need to confirm my flight with Southwest Airlines in America - I wish!!!

That's true if it comes from a mobile number but I believe, and I may be wrong here, that the short 5 digit ones have to comply with a STOP message.
