Hi
I've paid through the 60 months(last November), and I'm currently just paying the last bit or arrears for extra income I have received, I should be completely finished by April (touch wood). Its been tough, but worth it in the end.
I have a basic bank account, but want a debit card so I can buy tickets and stuff on line. I am not after any kind of overdraft or credit (I'm not going there again).
Do you think I'll be able to approach my bank now, or will I have to wait until I receive completion documents?
Thanks

A lot of us have got debit cards with our accounts. I think banks over the years have allowed them.

I would definitely ask your bank for one, don't know what I would do without mine!

Hi blueman,

Which bank are you with? I think most of us have a debit card in one form or another now.

Yes I am surprised you haven't had one throughout your IVA, I have a full current account with a visa debit card with Lloyds, I don't know how I would manage if I just had to use cash only!

Nothing wrong with having a debit card whilst you are in an IVA - it is not a form of credit at the end of the day, and is pretty essential these days in our non-cheque society.
