I would talk to someone within the company that is administering your DMP and ask them about it, if you qualify for an IVA they may get the ball rolling. You don't have to go with the same company though you are entitled to shop around so to speak. www.iva.com is a comparison site. Might be worth talking to at least one other company. x

Some firms only deal with DMP's and refer IVA applications on to other firms (for a fee). Which company are you with ?

It should be very simple - as they have all of your details and ought to be able to get the IVA proposal prepared fairly quickly. As other posters have mentioned, not all DMP companies have an in-house insolvency practitioner, so best to check as if they are going to refer you on to someone else, you may like to shop around yourself.

I agree with Lesley and Mel - shop around before making a decision unless you are completely happy with your company.

Is there any reason they put you on a DMP in the first place rather than an IVA? Which company are you with?

I went from a DMP to an IVA with the same company. Was straight forward and like Mel said, they had all my details and it went smoothly.
