Hi All,

I am half way through my IVA and work as a rental agent in property lettings, my employer wanted me to become an associate of APIP which is an inventory clerk association, they have written back with the following response -

"I regret to advise you that at some point in the process of applying for APIP membership you have been provided with incorrect information as we do not accept an application from a person who has entered an IVA. This is the same process for all other parts of the Group. I apologise that it has taken me so long to respond to you, unfortunately I have not been in the office for most of the last two weeks."

Now it was my understanding the likes of RICS do accept applications from potential members who are in an IVA, I also remember Melanie posting somewhere that it should not effect membership.

Thanks

Paul

What a ridiculous decision about an organisation that has no real involvement in the financial world, or reason to disbar members for. They don't deserve you with such a patronising and prejudicial attitude.

I suggest that you write to them and enquire why they have such a drachonian attitude, when even Chartered Accountants and Insolvency Practitioners can still practice and be members of their own trade associations!
