Harry, don't get hung u on guidelines too much, you really need to put what you actually spend. Some people spend way over the guidelines on some things, and, as long as it can be justified, it gets accepted (special diets, that sort of thing).

There is a guide on the beatmydebt website living expenses guide, which lays out the sort of things you can claim for and the guideline amounts are very close to the CCCS guidelines.

Hi and welcome.

Guidelines are just that - guidelines.

Put down exactly what you spend and be prepared to back it up with evidence and you should be fine.

Hi, I don't think they are available online, unless things have changed. Beat my debt website has some guidelines I believe?

been with them for a couple of years now, they don't have guidelines but do make notes on your budget for creditors if it looks like you spend too much on certain things - i.e. petrol etc

The CCCS certainly do have guidelines, but they are only published to a select audience each year on grounds that they don't want them in the public domain where people could rely on them and falsely inflate their actual expenditure.

Not much chance of falsely inflating expenditure by using CCCS guidelines, to say they allow you the bare minimum to live on is an understatement.

For the record I'm only speaking from my own personal experiences during the last 5 years

I've had a quick look and there are a lot of posts to do with this but I can't find the post you are referring to Carole.

If you could post it then that would be great.

The way I found them was to google CCCS Guidelines 2011 then scrolled down to Insolvancy Practitioners.org.uk and there they are.

I thought you meant that the allowances were in a thread on here.

I found the link:

However, they are just that - guidelines.

How interesting! I got hammered by them for using them on one of my websites a couple of years ago, so will certainly review my strategy if other firms are getting away with it. Personally I do not see why they are not in the public domain in any case.
