Which companies will allow you to open a bank account with an IVA.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Co-op, Barclays, Nationwide are all usually ok for a basic bank account with an IVA as long as they are not one of your creditors.

Make sure you ask for the basic account, not a current account, unless you are clear they will credit check you for a standard account and it will, more than likely, be rejected.
It's an idea to pop on to their websites to see what they call their basic accounts, like Co-Op's is Cashminder, etc.

Don't touch HSBC or First Direct as they will close your acccoun as soon as you enter an IVA.

We have had a Key Account with RBS since the start of our IVA 2 years ago, but they have recently restricted withdrawals to RBS/Nat West machines. Huge inconvenience to us, so we changed to Co-Op cashminder account. We went to the branch, told them we were in an IVA & it was no problem. Welcome pack & debit cards arrived a week later & I'm now in the process of changing our salary & DD's over to the new account. Would highly recommend them!

Yes I'm with Natwest and they're changing or have changed not sure where you get cash from...bit of a pain or it may be. I withdraw my housekeeping every Friday from Natwest as luckily it's on works doorstep and don't get any more money out but if I did it could become inconvenient. x

Having said that the Natwest Step Account is very good for those in an IVA and I far them far superior to that of my previous bank (HSBC).

Have to say the Yorkshire Bank Readycash is excellent and they are IVA friendly.

im with natwest and yes they only let you withdraw from natwest or rbs cash machines on a basic account .

I'm also with NatWest and I love the online banking - so easy and instant. Have an e-saver account with them too which means I can transfer monies at the touch of the keyboard. In branch I have found them to be very helpful and friendly. I know there are restrictions regarding the atm's but fortunately this does'nt really bother me as I rarely withdraw cash and if I do I'm close to a Tesco and Morrisons x
