Is it correct that the amount payable to the iva is the total amount that you have left after taking expenditure from income. Also i have a insurance with my iva company and they dont class it as an expenditure!?

after you have worked out your total expenditurel any thing left go to your iva.
dont know why your iva insurance is not in your expenditurel.

Hi and welcome.

Your iva payment is your disposable income after all of your normal monthly outgoings have been paid. You do.have allowances for things such as haircuts.

As,regards the insurance, there ate some creditors who won't allow it but if you could fund it by savings elsewhere there is no reason why you could not keep.it going

Did your iva company sell you this insurance??

Not very keen on this but if they made you take it then they must give you an allowance!!!

Thanks to you all for replies. But there is one thing i dont understand,I thought that when in an iva they half your dept but ours seems more than when we started.Another thing that annoys me is that my advisor dont seem to be helping us,he was nent to send us some paper work over two weeks ago and im still waiting.I call him and ask but he seems uninterested.

Hi, your debt isn't halved. You will always owe the full amount of your original debt plus fees until the iva is completed. Whatever is remaining will then be written off.

Which company are you with an debate paperwork are you waiting for?

for some reason i cant paost a new topic- its says internall error - i have recieved my proposals today which i will fill in and send off tomorrow- im really freaking about about this join debt that i have with my ex husband - my current boyf (you think would be supportive!! huh men ) is frightning me to death saying he will probably get really annoyed with me and send solicitors letters - im really scared as to what he can do it me - the largest debt it that one so surely a lot of my dividend will go to that wont it so the shortfall wont be massive will it ? i pay 123 per month :(

I think there are still a few glitches on the forum at the moment.

Read through your proposals and make sure you are happy with everything in there. As regards your ex, there's not a lot he can do. He will just have to.carry on paying the loan.

can he send me solicitors letters tho? the proposals are like 4 payments @ 361 and 58 at 385 per month - says something about 35% dividend.

Even if he does there is nothing he can do. He is as liable for the loan as you are so you can tell him that. Once your iva has been approved then you could always send a copy of your approval to a solicitor if he did that.

Dividend is quite a good one.

he can send as many letters as he wants as he is jointly responsible for the debt he cant do anything to you as you will be protected by the iva. Do you speak to your ex? If so I'd warn him what you are doing but obviously he isnt paying anything to the joint debt so tough luck on him.
