It does start on the day of the meeting but if you cannot make a payment on that date you should be able to stipulate your own date. I had to do that with mine. Just speak with your ip.

When I received the call to tell me that my IVA was approved I was asked for my salary payment date (16th) and the standing order was set up for the 20th to ensure that the money was there.

Because the IVA was approved on the 28th the first payment was on the 20th of the next month.

Your IP will ensure that the payment date is suitable for your salary payment date since they do not want their staff tied up with sorting missed payments.

Generally, as long as the payment is made within 28 days it's OK -- otherwise you will always be, technically, a month behind.

Foggy is quite right. There is no need to make your first payment on the day your IVA is approved. Most people make their IVA payments on the day (or shortly after the day) they get paid.

Not a hard one for an ip to sort out.

as others have said your IP should work with you to ensure the payment date is set at one that is convenient to you for your pay day - for me we always paid the IVA the day after pay day, along with all our bills each month - that way we knew what was left was ours..
