Just got my annual report from PP and found myself really excited opening it! I suppose its hard evidence of progress being made but do feel a bit of strange one being so chuffed its arrived. Anyway thought I would share my not so headline news.

P.S Anyone pondering whether an IVA is a solution worth looking at, all i can say is, although it requires a little discipline and sacrifice, for myself it's been a positive step I wish I had taken at least 4 years earlier( that's how long I was technically insolvent only delaying the inevitable by increasing my line of credit ). If you are in stuck, face up to it and speak to a professional. I know if I had done so back then I wouldn't have lost things that I won't get back even when the IVA has completed.

Take care everyone.

You're not sad Dan. It's a lovely post and will hopefully reach some of the others that are lurking on the outside wondering if it's the right thing to do.

I have to say the annual report is the highlight of my (iva) year. Just to check all the details, see claims, payments made etc.. Gives me a sense that things are closer to being completed.

I've always been happy with the phone call telling me the payments haven't altered. The letter is just the icing on the cake.

Dan

What a lovely post - it good to hear that the IVA is working for you and may give someone who is considering an IVA the courage to take the next step.

Kind Regards
Karol

Hi,
Your far from sad, you should feel proud of what you've achieved, hopefully people that haven't made the first step yet will see this and act a as result.

its posts like this that got me to take my frist step.

I haven't got as far as that yet but you are certainly not sad for that!

I also agree with you, I was technically insolvent for about 2 years before I entered into the IVA and it was the best thing I ever did, although as you say the road is not easy and I'm sure I will have many bumps along the way!

Hi Dan,

Have to agree with you and littlefi I should have taken IVA out sooner instead I just kept increasing my debt to survive.

I am not so positive though when it comes to sending back my annual income/expenditure. I am always nervous my payments will increase!!

Good luck with everything

Its a good thing which keeps you focused on the ultimate prize. an IVA can be so tough at times that when the annual review is completed it is like one more notch on the bed post .... so to speak. How long to you have left to go?

Cheers everyone.

Wasn't expecting so many plaudits for my post but thanks. After yesterdays snippet I started to compare my life before IVA and what its like now I'm in one. Many things have improved apart from the obvious pending debt free life and one of subtle differences is being able laugh and smile genuinely without the stress of the debt overshadowing any sort of joy one might experience. I probably find to many things amusing now.Even laugh at my own football team(sorry that's right they are bunch of comedians).
Take care all.
