Co-op and Barclays come recommended as long as they aren't a creditor.
Don't touch HSBC or First Direct though. They will close the account once you're in an iva.

Most of the high street banks and building societies offer their own version of the basic bank account (no credit facilities) - so there are others to choose from but Jan offers two good recommendations - you could also try the Natwest or Nationwide accounts.
If you go with Co-op make sure you ask for the Cashminder Account which is their basic one.

I have a direct line telephone number for the Co-op which is 01695 53760 (correct number it is short!) this will bypass the expensive line, and is charged at local rate - the account you need to apply for is the Cash Minder account - this account comes highly recommended by clients
Hope this helps, Melanie
