Hi Chelle. Tha main thing is to keep your IP in the loop, they should do all they can to assist on the IVA front -- it's the last thing you need to be worrying about.

Best of luck.

I would think that if things got too bad you could always ask for your payments to date to be accepted as a full and final.

Hope it doesn't come to that. Good luck with the treatment

Welcome to the forum.

Sorry to hear you are unwell chelle. I would echo what Jan has said above. I would probably speak to my IP now if I was in your position to advise them of your health issue then hopefully they will support you as much as they can.

Hi welcome to the forum and I wish you a very speedy recovery. Speak with your IP keep them in the loop at all times and let them help you. You need to think about yourself at this time and not worry about your IVA. x

Hi Chelle - welcome to the forum - glad you found us for some additional support at this horrid time for you. I hope you have got good people around you to help you through this. Chemotherapy can affect different people in different ways so I guess you will see over the next few weeks how you react to it.

Hopefully you have also got a good supportive IP that you can go to should you have any need to. Keep an eye on your expenditure as it may need to increase due to visits for treatment, specific clothes/underwear etc - if it does then your IP should take that into account as your IVA payments may need to reduce slightly to allow for it - your IP will work with you on this.

Keep us posted how you get on with everything and we are all here to give you the support we can.

Best wishes for a full recovery and hope the journey getting there isn't too hard along the way.

Hi Chelle4, I hope today is a good day and I want to wish you all the best, what a rough time.

I am just wondering, are you in e.g. a works pension scheme. I ask this because if you are and work for e.g. a local authority say, I'm finding this hard to explain, but ages ago, I was retired on ill health after being ill for some time and off poorly, and I receive an occupational pension from the pension fund to which I paid in.

Also, if you have e.g. a mortgage you might want to think about any health or illness cover you may have taken out if you did this you may be able to claim money back if you are off work poorly for some time.

I have found Macmillan to be very supportive, my dad is very ill. I recently helped my dad to submit a community grant claim also as his oven broke down fully (before our IVA finished) and he was very recently awarded £290 to buy a new oven.

I can't even begin to imagine what a horrendous time you are having, keep posting any questions or thoughts you have on the forum we are always here.

Hugs

Oscar
