I heard that SC clearance is no a problem for the MOD contractors providing it is disclosed.

If one declares an IVA in a Police contractor role can one be refused vetting because of the IVA??

Can being in an IVA be seen as responsible debt management.

Personally I would make a call to the HR department and advise them in advance and ensure they fully understand what an IVA is and how it is supporting you to repay your debts etc ....hopefully by being honest and upfront their won't be any issues.

I know there are plenty of police officers and admin staff who have IVA's so I am sure it won't be an issue

my son in law has applied for the police and as a result of this both me and my husband have to be vetted e.g. making sure we have no criminal convictions...which we havent. but will us being in an iva go against him? both he and my daughter know nothing about our iva.

The vetting for you is for criminal connections and convictions. They will only credit check your son in law not you.

HI,

i did a full and final IVA which was accepted in April, therefore we have paid our creditors £10k and this meant that our IVA isn't pending.

Today i have received a letter from south wales police offering me to pursue an application for a PCSO job that i applied for nearly 3 years ago. I would absolutely love to go ahead with this but i'm so nervous that my IVA has now spoilt my chances. I have read the eligibilty criteria and it states that if you are subject to an IVA you will not be considered.

Can anyone shed any light on this for me please ???

Its five dependant. If you notify them and send the completion cert I dont think you will have a problem
