Has anyone had any experience with getting finance from car craft? I have copied a post I read by julie below. It said towards the end the carcraft did provide finance for a vehicle with a large deposit.

I have actually finished my IVA but it is still on my record until jan 2012. I was hoping to hold out until january when it came off to apply for any finance but my car is literally on its last legs.

I have also looked at moneybarn but have seen one or two negative reports about them. Any advice would be much appreciated.

many thanks

Good afternoon,
I am soon to enter an IVA, but I am wondering if they is anyway to get car fiance while in a IVA. I understand that this cost would have to come out of my allowance but if I was able to cut back on different areas would I be able to do this.

The reason I ask is that my current car is Y reg and things are starting to wrong, while it is still drivable I have been looking round for prices to fix and I would be looking upwards of 800, although the car is only worth 400 or so.

Looking on the net I have noticed some good older cars 55reg or so for around 2500 – 3000 quick calculation would make a repayment around 90 a month. I understand that my bad credit would mean higher repayments that a normal deal. If car finance would not be possible would I be able to get a long term rent, as I have seen many deals for this over the last year or so.

Thank you for you help.

Regards

I am in an IVA and i managed to get car finance from Carcraft in January of this year my IVA had been running for 18 months, I had to put a large deposit down though

Hi,

Moneybarn will provide finance but you will need a decent deposit. They do mostly have good feedback on here.

You can try Carcraft, no real idea how you will get on though.

Thank you Kallis,

Im going to go down to carcraft today and see how it goes. I can still choose a car from there and passed the details to moneybarn and see if they will finance me I guess. Will let you all know how it goes. :)

You can use regular dealers and get moneybarn to finance things I think. Not sure how great carcraft are prices wise.

I thought Moneybarn just did their own cars?

From their website it looks like you fill in the details of the car you wish to finance and they call you back to try and help you. the car details include the reg no. x

Fair enough - I thought they just did their own - I stand corrected!!!

they used to do a limited number of cars about 10 at my last look before they changed.
its a find your own car now and they finance it.
much better way would be to look at your finance first to assist with how much you could spend on a car before you went shopping as it were.

That would seem to be a better way of doing things.

Dunctons did the same,if you found a car they financed it. I think the cars listed were just examples!
