having been given a %15 reduction in our iva payments and a 2mnth break to purchase a car this week, the ip has sent us today a letter about ppi and that some of our loans may inc an element of ppi,we have 7 creditors so 7 forms to complete, surely a catalogue company doesnt have ppi?
anyway if successful any money goes to the creditors it says in letter
Im sure 1of the loans had ppi and another company tried claiming it back for us few yrs ago but didnt get anywhere

Hi Mart,
Did you take out PPI when you took out any of your loans? If not then let your IP know. I would also let them know that you did try to claim one a few years ago and got nowhere.
Presumably you're not going to have to pay anything to try and do these claims?

Mart77 - It maybe that due to test PPI reclaim cases etc - in recent times - obstructive attutudes from the companies have changed - so there is nothing to stop you trying to reclaim again - But as Kallis has said - dont expect any money as all of this is likely to be paid into the IVA

Nice to see the IP firm jumping the gun and assuming that any PPI the OP may have purchased was mis-sold!!! Some people did buy PPI knowing and willingly!!!

Yes, I imagine they did! We always hear the negative side on here don't we? Some people do know what they were doing though.
I had it offered to me several times but as I get paid whilst I'm off sick it was a no brainer so I never bothered with it.

As long as no one experiences a delay in completion of an IVA due to their company deciding to chase up PPI!!!

Some people where misold though, at the time I was told I had to have it to have the loan. Where the banks went wrong was that PPI is a financial product and we have the right to look at the whole market and buy the PPI that best suited us and would often be cheaper than going through the bank.
The other issue I had with my PPI was that when I tried to cancel it the bank would not allow me to, meaning that I could no longer afford my loan repayments.
I actually wrote about this on my application for the IVA detailing why I ended up in the situation where I could no longer repay my debt.

Hi
We have just received forms to, to fill in so DFD can reclaim PPI. When we took the poans with PPI we did know what we were doing, should we tell DFD this or just fill the forms and send them back.
