Hi all,

Just a quick one - my existing contract with Orange is coming to an end, and I will no doubt stay with them. But I would like a shiney new handset - anyone out there in an IVA been able to upgrade with their existing provider?

Cheers!

DK

I think most of us have DK. O2 are certainly not a problem and I believe that all the company will do is check that your account with them is up to date. They don't do another credit check.

I upgraded mine when I was in an IVA and when I was BR. If you are staying with the same provider you shouldn't have a problem.

Enjoy choosing your new phone without having to pay any extra! If they won't let you upgrade (which I'm sure they will) then negotitate having your monthly costs reduced - I know of many who have won that argument!

Hi, my husbands contract with T Mobile just ended and he had no problems upgrading his phone. Hope you enjoy your new phone.

If you are with Orange and your contract is over 1 year old then they will reduce your bill by £5 a month, you needto reduce something like internet, text or minutes allowance a little but there is no charge for this and they will guide you on your allowances and what you can reduce to!

Every little help - also if you work for the NHS you can get 25% discount on renewal of contract ie 40 contract for 30. You need to go to the shop with a payslip other than that no problem!

me and hubby had contracts pre iva and thought it would help the iva to be approved by going on pay as you go. How foolish!! We have since tried to go back with them and failed miserably even though we had a clean record with them and a contract was cheaper than we were topping up monthly.

Try 02 Struzzo. They just gave me a contract, despite being in an IVA.

You were lucky then, we have had posters on here refused by O2. T mobile are supposed to be quite sympathetic.
