Received our proposal documents today - is it bizzarre to feel slightly excited that soon (all being well with meeting) that my life may start to feel normal again, not dreading the postman coming, not yelling at my two little children because I can't afford a toy for them in poundland, and not arguing with my hubby over stupid things which mean absolutely nothing? Can someone please help as well - because we are doing the iva together, do we make two seperate payments or will it be paid in a lump sum each month? The latter would be easier if it is allowed?

It will depend if your agreements are interlocking or seperate. Check what it says on your proposal or have a word with your ip.

Thank you, I couldn't see anywhere where it specifically stated that they were interlocking. There are two agreements to be signed but some of the debts on them are joint.

Myself and hubby have seperate ones and we make two payments but as they go out on the same day we don't really notice it.

We had joint debts and our IVA's are interlocking - we just make the 1 payment per month

We have interlocking IVA's and make the one payment. this is referred to in our propsal with a clause stating they are also interdependant ( if one fails so does the other).

Hubby's debts were joint ones but I had others as well so that might be why they are seperate.

hubby and I have an interlocking one, we both had separate debts no joint ones at all. We make 1 payment per month, it does state on our proposals that it is an interlocking one, although we had separate proposals etc to sign
