Hello folks,

Sorry to bring up this old chestnut again.

My IVA recently failed after some two-and-a-half years due to difficulty keeping up repayments. We've had the termination certificate and I've also noticed that my name is no longer on the insolvency register, which came as a bit of a surprise.

I know it is almost impossible to get a business account when in an IVA, but what about when you are no longer in one even if it didn't make it through to a conclusion?

Will it still be almost impossible?

I've seen the Co op mentioned on here numerous times as being sympathetic to people with adverse credit and wondered if anyone has managed to open a business account with them.

I'm actually feeling a lot more positive now my IVA has failed to be honest and have decided to deal with my creditors myself.

Even though you are off the register, it will still be on your credit record for the full six years so that might mean that you still can't get one.

Good luck with dealing with the creditors yourself - hope it works out for you.

Thanks Kallis, that's pretty much what I thought.

Do you know of any other companies who offer a really basic business account? I don't want cheque books or overdrafts or anything like that at all. Basically an account in the business name rather than my own is all I am after.
