Hi

I am currently on a dmp which is going well only 4 years left. I got my statement from Barclaycard today and that have started charging me interest I suspect it is because the payment I am making would be the equivalent to what I would pay if I was not on a plan. How is this helping me pay me debts off.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Hopefull

Hi Hopefull,

Sorry that Barclaycard are adding these charges but unfortunately as you are on a DMP there is nothing that can be done to stop this.

Hopefully their rep will pick up on this and give you a reply.

Maybe they feel that as you are able to resume contractual repayments you don't need their support as your debt is now back to an affordable level. The person managing your DMP should be able to get them to stop interest again. Best of luck with the next few years. x

Possible, but as DMP payments should be paid pro rata then I would have thought that all of the creditors would be in the same position.
