Hello, i havnt posted on here for a while, i was over in the bankruptcy chat, but would like to tell you, that at last i feel that a weight has been taken off my shoulder and am walking around with a smile! Myself and my husband were with blair enderbsy and entered into a iva last Aug, we could never get hold of anyone, and then i was told i was going to be made reduant this july. We then got a welcome letter from Grant Thronton, but we were now letting our iva fail and going to go bankrupt, as we thought this was our only way forward. With dread yesterday i rang GT to ask our options to be told the iva had not failed, we could continue with it, they will give me a payment break in oct and nov to find a job and will phone end of nov. The service i got from GT was really good and am so pleased we are now with them. I couldnt work out how to reply to another thread about GT but just wanted to let you know.

So pleased for you Joelizzie, communication with your IP is the key, as is so often said on the forum. You have shown that there is always a solution as long as you talk...

Welcome!!
That is fantastic news and must have put your mind at rest no end. I am so glad they have sorted something to help you out and fingers crossed you will find another job.
I am with GT also and still maintain that they have been great with me since I opted for my IVA but I have been a little on edge over the last couple of weeks because of the negative feedback I have seen.
I am confident though that once the transfer of BE clients has settled down then it will be back to business as usual for GT!

It is good to see positive reports for GT as they are a good company and the posts regarding transition issues have given a different impression in some cases. I hope things continue to go well for you both and good luck with the job hunting joelizzie.
Regards,

I think this shows there are good and bad experiences with any company. I will always tried to remember in my line of business (DWP) we are just answering another of the hundreds of calls whereas the person on the other end is probably desperate to sort their query. I should think that every company in this line of business are swamped with IVA applications / queries etc. I suppose we have to have a little bit of patience when waiting for our tuen to be dealt with (although saying that, so far, my experience with McCambridge Duffy has been 1st class!)

That's nice to hear, and the guys at GT do regularly look in at the forum so they will be pleased to see some positive feedback for their firm.

Mel, I know that you know the guys at GT well - any chance you could ask them to post on here?

Sorry Jan - they are just far too busy for forum posting. I barely manage to get a few minutes late at night these days, and I am looking after around 1,400 IVAs, about 140 bankruptcies and around 40 liquidations - those guys have got over 25,000 IVAs - and sometimes I wonder how they manage to fit in everything.
They take an active interest in the forum, but in a big firm like GT there are so many addiitonal things to do that I don't have to worry about at the smaller owner/managed end.

Wow!!! You are all so busy.
It was just a thought but with that amount of work it would be difficult.

25,000!!!!! Cor blimey. That's quite a figure!
It's good to know that GT look in on the forum from time to time. That is a comfort to those of us who are with them.
