Hi again and thanks for answering my previous question, I have another quick one... my partner and I have recently opened a joint bank account as I read this was advised when starting an IVA. I have since read that some banks are linked and am now worrying that mine is one of them, can they still access our account?

If in doubt best to move it to a bank that has no links with any of you creditors.
Also HSBC FirstDirect - are knonw to close account if it is known your in an IVA (even if you dont owe them any money)

Hi Samantha.sl - the company looking after you should advise you which banks to avoid and be able to advise you on whether the one you have is linked. Failing that, either look on the internet or give your bank a call and check if they are part of the same group - you don't need to tell them why you are asking.
Hope you get peace of mind soon

hi Samantha,
Nothing more to add than what the other posters have said & I personally would not risk it.
Co op bank comes highly recommended on the forum & Yorkshire bank if you have one near you.

I've opened a cashminder account with the Co-op and they have been marvellous.

I'm with Nationwide and they are ok pre IVA - not sure about afterwards!
