Just a quick post to say we have been in our iva over a year now and life has never been better. We don't have any spare money nor do we dread the postman or the phone ringing and over a year on we would like to say yet again a big thank you to Susan Clay and Melanie Giles for finding a perfect solution to our problems and giving us our (financial) life back.

Hi, it's a good feeling isn't it, the security the IVA brings is priceless. Glad your life is good and things are going well for you long may it continue. x

Thank you Lesley, we had a huge amount of debt built up over years then we got to the stage where we had to find help and Susan Clay and Melanie Giles stepped in. It wasn't all plain sailing and we had differences of opinion about how the case was going but I truly believe they absolutely worked in our best interests and for that we can't thank them enough.

I too am with Melanie and her team and despite my setbacks that were out of our control my IVA is still running. x

i think we have a lot in common with our IVA's Lesley seeing as we started them at around the same time , i have had setbacks due to circumstance change and was suffering from Stir Craziness with it the other day and it was driving me up the wall but after a couple of moany whiny posts on the forum and a chat with my missus i felt a whole lot better.
i think an IVA is a good thing but when you start you are relieved that you have breathing space but when you are over the 3 year mark it starts to become a bit of a drag as you want to see the finish line and the Tough months can grind you down a bit.[:)]

totally agree, it's not all plain sailing and nobody said it was going to be easy but I'm sure it's going to be worth it (fingers crossed). x

We are still fairly new at all this and we went straight from debt management across to an iva-so no chance to put anything by for a rainy day.Christmas was the scariest part for us-we havent told any of our families that we are in an iva and were worried about having to cut back on presents and such.
Luckily-due to the credit crunch everyone else seemed to have tightened the purse strings so nobody really noticed!!!
By saving in some areas we managed to have a brilliant Christmas-didnt go out but neither did most of our friends and family as no one had any spare money!!!
My son got everything he wanted and come January there was no dreading the credit card and catalogue bills-we had gotten into the cycle of spend spend spend for special occasions and spend the rest of the year paying it off!!! Our money was never really ours for a long time.
Nowadays the creditors may not be getting all of what we owe them-even though they have had most of the original borrowings back-but every penny we pay now is PAYING OFF debt.
We are no longer stuck in a vicious circle-it is sometimes frightening to know I have only pennies in my purse until pay-day and theres no plastic in my purse to fall back on.
But we have everything we need- a roof over our heads that will one day be ours, more food in the house than ever before (bulk-buyings cheaper) and the bills are getting paid-what more could we want!!!!
