It is their responsibility to pay you on time.
Ask for a same-day transfer by CHAPS, it will cost them £10-20 but a cheque is not the same as a bank transfer for you.

No_money that isn't good and they should pay you - have they said why it hasn't gone in?
I know I've had problems in the past but have known about it beforehand the firm has always said that any costs incurred because of their mistake would be reimbursed.

I think the cost if any are incurred should be reimbursed, is there a reason they're late in paying you?

Not good No Money, this has only happened to me once & there was a fault at my employers end & it effected everyone.
At the time some employees had there wages appear after midday but it was midnight for me.
Hope you get some answers n let us know, its awful when mistakes like this happen x

I would demanding a CHAPS payment today! I would also want a thorough explanation as to why this happened ! All very well asking people to wait, but those of us in IVA's etc do live day by day, especially near pay days and we rely on having our wages on a specific day - the double bank holidays do not help and I imagine that is where the problem lies !

I reckon people who aren't in an IVA would be struggling as well! I know that once our money has gone in, the vast majority of it goes out again the next day!

I think I would end up in bits if this happened to us now, as alot of our direct debits & IVA payments go out on Payday.

You need to demand a CHAPS payment immediately with your employers footing the cost!!
Like most other people all our direct debits etc go out on payday so we would be really stuck if this happened to us!!
Can't believe we've made 2 payments - how time flies!!
Think there may be some sticky times ahead though as its looking more unlikely I will be unable to return to work following my daughters illness. I have to say though looking after my 2 grandchildren is a delight even if our 3 bedroomed terraced is full to the brim!!!
Hope you manage to get things sorted NoMoney x

No- money - They use to be able to clear a cheques fast - (couple of hours) it cost about £25 (bill your employer). that way the funds would be in the account the same day
Also speak to you own Bank right away - hopefully prevent any charges (also bill you employer these as well)

I hope they can sort it for you today No_money especially with the BH weekend upon us. Have you spoken to your bank to explain? Have you got any supermarket vouchers you can use for food etc? Horrible to wake up to today - I know mistakes happen but when things are such a fine balancing act it is the difference between being ok and a big mess.
Let us know how you get on today.

I suffered this before so moved all direct debits and standing orders to 5 to 7 days after payday! Closing the door after the horse has bolted I know. Talk to your bank right away and they may help you out by honouring dd's etc.
