Chances are some of you may have received correspondence from EIIR trawlers suggeting you have been mis-sold your IVA.
In reality these sorts were just trying to push you down the bankruptcy route (Where it might not necessarily be best advice) and charge a fee for the pleasure.
Good news on that front can be found here ...

http://www.oft.gov.uk/news-and-updates/press/2011/56-11

The OFT has revoked the consumer credit licences of Bankruptcy Limited (BL), Intl Marketing Limited (IML), UK Bankruptcy Limited (UKB) and UK Mortgage Link Limited (UKML), for such as the above.

Slowly but surely the crooks are being ground down and spat out ;)

Thanks for that Cybus. It will be helpful when next time someone posts here saying they have been missold an IVA.

I think that all of us in the industry welcome this news, and it is good to see the OFT taking steps to regulate from within. There are bad apples in all carts, of course, and it is good to see consumers being protected from such practices.

Great news! It's also very exciting because as a forum we must receive enough of these letters to get other firms' licences revoked if we all sent them off. Power to the people!!
