Hi
It is 3 years now since my hubby and I did a full & final iva. We are considering trying to apply for a mortgage. We have paid to look at our credit reports online with Experian, giving out last adressess for 6 years and there is nothing on there about our IVA. All that is showing is some searches done recently by Insurance companies etc. for our car insurance and contents insurance and that is it.I have looked everywhere on the report and can't find anything. Shoudl we have asked for something different?

Hi,

How long were you in your IVA for before doing the full and final? If it's been over six years since you started the IVA then it will have dropped off your record.

May be worth checking all the credit agencies - the IVA will show under Court information on Experian, + Equifax

Sorry Carol, misread your post. Hadn't realised it was a full and final one you did.

I agree with ginger that you need to check all three agencies.

Hi

I have wrote off to both Experian and Equifax and paid the £2 for our reports and we are still waiting for them but signed up for the free trial online in the meantime. I have just had a look and there isn't a section on the report called Court Information. They have search information which just shows current searches going back 12 months. Nothing under the account information as defaulted etc.

You should be fine with the defaults then but I'm sure there is something on there about court information. If you're not sure then give them a ring and ask.

Experian /Creditexpert - may be under public record/information.

You can usually get your Stat credit report on line - saves waiting for the postman !

It might be called public records. On the report I looked at it was right up the top under your personal details.

Are you on the insolvency register, if your details are on there the CRA's should have picked it up under public information as others have said.

If not then you may have fallen through the net.

Hi all
Have realised what has happened. The address we defaulted in was not showing on the record so I updated it and the IVA is now showing today as settled on the 8.9.2009. Funny enough neither of us are showing on the insolvency registar. Now the hard job of trying to get a mortgage. We earn about 45k between us, have a 10% deposit and no other debts but not holding out much hope really.
Thanks everyone for your replies.

The data comes off the insolvency register shortly after your F&F. However it stays on your credit file for 6 years from when it was registered.

I think at the moment you will find it very difficult to get a mortgage - even those with perfect credit records are struggling.

Let us know if you do manage to get one though - would be very useful information for other posters.

You can get your credit report free online from all three UK credit reference agencies. It's definitely worth getting all three as the information is slightly different on each. As others have said above, there is a section called Public Record Information.
