My husband and I are jointly applying to do and IVA and combined we propose to pay back 36p in the £ owing, this seems very low to me and I fear we will not be approved, anyone be approved at this low rate, also can one of us be approved and the other not.[?][?]

Hi Hayley,

Don't worry - your IP must have been convinced in order to propose it to your creditors. I've certainly seen dividends much lower than that approved, and I'm sure that the other posters will agree that it's quite normal for an offer like that to be accepted!

ours was approved no problem at 34p in the pound-I have seen a lot lower on here.
Dont worry Hayley-we were convinced it would be a *no* right up until the phone call saying yes!!!
The alternative of bankruptcy would see the creditors getting a lot less-please dont worry-your iva firm will know what they are doing.

It looks a good dividend and if it's the best offer on the table you've got nothing to worry about x

well as you've no doubt seen, mine is going to be around 15p in the £, I spoke to my team yesterday who made me see the dividend differently, Claire told me to see the dividend as a byproduct of a realistic income and expenditure, therefore if the I&E is realistic and broadly fits the CCCS guidelines, then it will be accepted, she told me that you could have a dividend of 70p in the £ but if the I&E isn't correct, then it wouldn't go through, so I am trying to listen to her advice.

Your dividend is whatever it is at the end of the day

Good advice from your Mum. I am returning about 70p and still worried like mad so nothing gives you guarantees. It's about putting your best offer forward not about how much the dividend is. xx
