Hi and welcome.

I've no idea I'm afraid - does it say anything on the application form? You could always make an anonymous phone call to HR to see what the stance is and it is probably best to let them know just in case.

I do know of a bank employee, in an IVA, and her bank is one of her creditors! So it can be done. But it depends on the particular bank's policies. It's best to tell them, rather than letting them find out, at least they will see that you are being honest and that you are addressing your debt responsibly.

Hi welshj - When you say you have been offered a job, did you complete an application form and was this subject to a credit check?

it all depends on the offer of employment, does it state you have to declare IVA or "a legal agreement with creditors"?

Hi - banks credit check as standard but it shouldn't cause a problem unless you are actually a banker and even then there may be a work-round. It's best to be upfront and let them know before you send off the form so you can put your side forward. A number of posters have been credit checked and it hasnt yet stopped play. x

I had a job offer that ws subject to all sorts including credit check

It came back as I'm in IVA and payments up to date, which was fine with them but caused me worry.

The Job isn't connected to banks or giving advice about money etc

I cannot see a HR job causing too many problems in terms of credit checking. Let us know how you get on.
