Hi all. I received 5 letters today all saying the same thing. Strangely, two were from Mercers and three from Barclaycard but they were word for word the same...very bizarre!! They read as follows: 'We have received advice that you are to enter a voluntary arrangement/bankruptcy order. In the circumstances, please destroy and return any cards/cheques in your possession immediately. Please send a copy of the voluntary arrangement/bankruptcy order when it has been approved.'
First of all, I destroyed and disposed of all our cards weeks ago so can't send them back!! Also, do we really have to send them a copy of the IVA, surely the IP will do that if it is approved. ALso, I like how they way 'when' it is approved not 'if'[:)] Less than 2 days left now til D Day!!

I had one of those --- can't rmember who from now. Like you my cards had been shredded and disposed of a while ago. Rightly or wrongly I ignored the letter on the grounds that their representative had voted at the creditors meeting and would therefore be sent a copy by my IP.

Anything that may have been of use to my IP was posted to them such as statements, everything was stored in the round filing cabinet.
Well oblongish with wheels now but you know what I mean

Don't worry about it - as Andy says, your IP will tell them.

Hi Luckycharm
We had numerous letters from Barclaycard and Mercers they just send them out automatically. It's easier when your IVA's approved you can just point them to the register and that's that!

Mercers are the collection agents for Barclays and Barclaycard, so that is why the wording of the letter was consistent in all five occasions.

I had enough letters from both to be able to paper my living room!
