we have been in an iva since oct and are curently on reduced payments as have recently had a baby. i know that i am expected to return to work in 6 months, so that our payments can increase again. i have no problem with that. my current job means i have to travel, so petrol costs are very high, coupled with the fact that i would have to pay childcare. i would like to return to childminding, so i can work from home. basically my question is this, if i childmind my wages would be less, than if i returned to work, but this would be offset by a reduction in petrol and childcare. would this be acceptable?
any advice would be lovely.

thanks

Hi,

I think most of us are having problems with increased prices for everything.

Speak to your IP as they are best placed to advise on this. Personally I can't see a problem if you can maintain your payments.

thanks kallis,

payments would stay the same or could increase as my children get older and i can look after more children and so would earn more.

It would be much better working from home as well. Hopefully your IP will be agreeable and you've got a fair amount of time to sort it out as well.

This sounds like a good idea as the wage reduction should be offset by not incurring childcare and petrol costs.

How lovely to have found a new career and be able to spend all day with your child.
