I am really getting my money's worth on this forum. lol
I am in the process of proposing an IVA and have filled in my I&E. However, I am planning to relocate in the next 6 months. If all goes well, I will have an additional income of at least 600, but my rent will swallow the majority if not all of the increase. How will it look if I redo my I&E and increase my rent by over 100% even thought my payment would stay the same?
Thanks again for all the help

Hi, when I moved recently I was told I could not improve my standard of living while in an IVA...so you will need to minimise the rent increase if your IP is of the same opinion as mine. Tho if the increase is fully covered by the salary increase they may be more lenient.

I think that things like this can be built into your IVA, it's ideal if you know they're going to happen and have an idea of the figures beforehand. I'm sure Melanie can help you x

Thanks lesley, i did mention it one of melanie's team today as it is all ifs and buts she had to take details as they stand now (understandable) however there is a real chance that I will get to move and land this amazing job in the coming months. BOL's comments have scared me a little about proceeding now, perhaps I should wait and see if I get the new job before starting an IVA, my disposable income will be the same but my as I said, it will be vastly different income and expenditure figures

You got me working my way through the daily posts!
If your new income is to be absorbe in higher rental, there is no problem with this - but don't deliberately get a property that is £600 higher just to avoid paying the additional monies to creditors.
We can stagger payments to suit your circumstances, so I'd rather have a look at your case in greater details before passing further comment - particularly on a public forum.

Hi, I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you. All I meant was I was told I couldn't go from a studio flat to a one bed flat as I would deliberately be raising my standard if life and reducing the amount available to creditors...if the increased rent is for equivalent accommodation you should be fine. Particularly with Mel as your IP you will get the best and fairest advice.

Thanks Melanie, I didnt want to miss you before you went to bed![:)]
I do appreciate the help and support im getting from everybody.
it wouldnt be a case of deliberately having the huge increase in rent, id be moving from a small town in to New York... the increase in salary would be indicative of the increase in cost of living!
