Hi all, I have just sent my IVA proposal back to debt free direct, I was just wondering what happens if my IVA gets turned down, will I be back to square one? Thanks in advance!

Hi Spurs,
If you do get turned down then you could try a DMP.
Be positive though - it's not going to come to that!

Thanks Jan, but nothing ever seems straight forward with me!

You'll be fine - don't worry! DFD would not be putting this forward if they didn't think it would be accepted.

I want to say don't worry but I know that's impossible! If your proposal didn't have legs DFD wouldn't have prepared a proposal. Good luck and chin up - wont be long before you're a fully signed up member of the IVA club.

Keep smiling ours has just gone in and I am nervous but can't change it just gotta go with the flow and if the worse happens we aren't gonna be executed, just have to dust ourselves off and start again, debt free and learn a harsh lesson. We proposed 44p as against nothing if bankrupt so why would creditors not go for that it doesn't make sense. Fingers crossed for everyone

I'm sure you'll be fine Trebor. Your IP would not be putting forward a proposal if they thought it would not be accepted.

Good luck from me, I'm sure the best offer will be on the table so try not to worry and I realise that's easier said than done xx

Just bear in mind that your IP's fees will be coming out of the IVA - so if they are willing to propose it, they will have a good feeling that they will get an aceptance, otherwise they will be working for nothing.
Good luck to all. I remember the anxious wait nearly 3 years ago now, and have not looked back since.

Hi Trebor,
Hope all goes well. My 1st IVA was rejected, went into DMP for 12 months and then retried IVA with another IP and was successful.
Good luck
Martyn

@ matgoingmad - they say success is persistence.
