we are currently sorting out an IVA and will need a new bank account. We have been refused by the Yorkshire bank and I thought they were one of the better ones to try!! Any ideas?

hi martina the coop are very popular just a phone call normally does the trick for a cashminder account you get a visa electron debit card with it and can deposit at post offices.and online banking.

Thank you will give them a try, jut felt a bit deflated as everyone was quite positive about the Yorkshire bank. We showed our payslips etc and obviously only wanted a basic account so was surprised.

i think you will find the co op a lot nicer they will send you a welcome pack and just a signature will do.

Yes I would recommend the Coop very nice, and uk call centre! Each time I call it is picked up in a few rings...

It is actually a full visa card, when we first got it some petrol pumps (tesco/shell) would not accept but now they do fine, I think it was the updates on their system from Visa Electron to Visa.

Online banking is pretty basic but does the job!

thanks
