I've just noticed that the Paypal top up card is no longer available for new customers, mine is due to expire at the end of this month so I woner if I will get charged a renewal fee/a free renewal or not at all....Hmmmm

I read this earlier on a post Endsmeet, no idea why though and I don't think the poster knew if they were replacing them. It seemed a good option for some and I hope they keep their existing customers. x

Hi Lesly,
I've emailed customer services and just got a reply saying that they will start sending out replacement cards from the 19th August, whether I get charged for the renewal is something I will have to wait and see, I've seen somewhere that they are scrubbing the renewal fee for people who use the card alot.

Its good news for me as I use the card regularly as it doesn't cost me a penny ( I top up via my paypal account ) but its a pity that they are not accepting new customers as its an excellent 'top up' card,

I'm pretty sure they're not charging renewal fees.

Hi all. I too have a paypal card that expires at the end of this month and I emailed them and rang them last week to see when I could expect my new one. I was told that they start sending them out about halfway through the month. Shame they aren't issuing to new customers anymore.

I wonder why they're not doing it anymore?

I reckon that they are not making as much money as they expected to when they first released the card, I personally load the card thru my paypal account and don't get charged anything at all, never have done for either loading or using since I've had it apart from the initial fee of purchasing the card.

You can only have the O2 card if you are an O2 customer though.

surely if they were not making money they would kill off all the existing accounts? unless they have to let them run until expiry?

Why not get an 02 sim on their site, you can normally request one for free... then you can be a customer even if you dont use it? Worse case you might have to put the sim into someone elses phone to activate. (assuming you dont have an unlocked phone to do this)

thanks

Not read up on the T&C so don't know if you have to have a contract phone or not.
