My wife and i both work for the UK Border Agency and are Civil Servants. We are in financial difficulty and are considering entering into an IVA. Please can you tell me whether this will effect our employment status as Civil Servants?

Hi there and welcome to the forum

You would need to check the terms and conditions of your employment, but I don't think this would have any relevance. I have a lot of civil servant clients, and they don't seem to have any problems as a result of their efforts to see their creditors repaid.

I'm a senior manager in the DWP and when I entered my IVA I told my manager who ran it past HR who said it would have no affect on my job.
