I need some urgent advice.I am currently in a joint IVA with my partner, our house has a mortgage of £216,000 and the value is £230,000. The relationship is over and I really dont know where to start.Things are so difficult that my children and I are going to leave in a few days and with the help of my friend financially am going to rent a house. I will not be able to pay the morgage and really think I would be best going bankrupt. He is being very diffficult and will not tell me what he intends to do one minute he says he is staying in the house paying the mortgage and half the IVA the next he says he is walking out and not paying anything. Should I call Susan Clay and discuss things, is it possible for me to go bankrupt for my half of the IVA although I would probably still afford half of it on my own but it is all tied into his and surely I would need one in my own right. Gosh everything is such a mess.

I am so sorry to hear your news Pog.
I would certainly ring Susan and seek her advice as your head is understandably all over the place at the moment.
You can go bankrupt on your own, but I would have a chat first.
Hope you can get things sorted.

Sounds like you're having a terible time Pog - Yes do ring Susan so you can make her aware of what is happening and she can best advise you.
Sending you very best wishes for the difficult time head and hope you get settled soon.

You should definately ring Susan at an early stage to seek advice as to what is best to do. I would imagine that you will need a short payment break to start off with, until you get yourself sorted out with somewhere to live. Sue will also need to speak with your partner to see what his intentions are - so it would be helpful if we could identify you to your real names.
