what happens to IVA if me and my husband split. I would still be able to pay my IVA just but have a feeling he would stop paying his. We have tried to make it work but I've now had enough. He went drinking again last night, stayed out, phoned in work sick and has now gone drinking again. Cant cope anymore but worried about money locko

I am so sorry to hear about your problems Locko. I hope you can get things sorted.
If push comes to shove you need to speak to your IP to get them separated so that you are responsible for your debts, and your husband for his. That way, if there are joint debts you can clear your half and leave him responsible for his.
Do speak to your IP though.

I'm sorry to hear it's come to this Locko. I agree with Jan, you need to speak to your IP and ask them to separate the IVAs.
I hope things work out for you x

If both parties can afford to maintain their share of the IVA payments, then a formal separation of the agreements is not always necessary. This should always be the preferred route to preserve the dividend prospects for creditors, but of course is only possible with two consenting parties.

What would happen in that case if one party didn't maintain their payments Mel?
