hello, i am in a iva(17 months left) but my wife is not , could she loan me money to offer as a full and final amount?? if she has not got enough she is willing to take a loan out to pay off the remainder of my iva as the loan payments will be drastically lower than my iva payments at present leaving us better off each month.

Hi, if your wife isnt in an IVA then i dont see there being a problem with this. Would it not be better to soldier on for the short ammount of time you have lef though so you can end it without getting into debt? Just a thought.
Are you struggling to make your payments?

I think I agree with Lisa here. By the time you were able to make a full and final payment then a few more months would have gone by and if you carry on now, then the IVA will be over before you know it and you will both be totally debt free.

thanks for the quick reply, i think we need to clear it soon as as my circumstances have changed (thats another story), would i have to tell my iva provider my wife is getting a loan to help me clear off the iva, would they have any issues with that?? or can i say my wife is willing to pay off the full and final settlement for me (not telling them she will be taking a loan)basically worried they will not agree to this method as wife is taking more credit to help me. does this make sense?? note. I'm not trying to be dishonest with anyone.

I think your IP is likely to ask where the money will be coming from but as your wife isnt in the IVA i cant see there being any issues.

I cannot see anything wrong with this suggested solution - and if I were you I would make the offer sooner rather than later subject to your wife obtaining funding.
