ok, I completed my IVA 4 weeks ago(through Grant Thornton) but I still haven't received the Certificate of Completion.

I'm reading all sorts of estimates in different places (from "a few days" to "a couple of weeks" to "2-3 months"), what is the realistic processing time for this certificate?

thank you

It may take a while for the certificate to come through.

If you are a bit concerned, contact GT.

There is no set timescale - so just wait for your IP to issue this when they are ready.

Thanks for the replies...
what does this variable timescale depend on?
what would the maximum be?

i think it depends on when the last funds are paid over and all the loose ends are tied up.
my wifes took 3 months till she got hers, and its not much to look at either(you wouldnt want to frame it for the wall[:D])
just keep enquiring with them to keep the ball rolling as they say.

Personally I'd want to get hold of that certificate as soon as possible, cause without it we are still going to be classed as in a IVA even after the last payment is made.

As such I'd suspect that we would still have the windfall clause over our heads until we get that certificate.

it should work in such a way that it all ends the day the last direct debit payment goes out of the account!! [:D]

Hi Pop,

Congrats on finishing your IVA. Hope your certificate comes through soon. I'm waiting too for my certificate from Grant Thornton. I rang them a couple of weeks ago and they said it very rarely got sorted under the 12 weeks, but this depends on the creditors apparently. Some companies seem to be able to do it in less but I can't really complain, GT have been excellent throughout but still can't wait to get that final certificate in my hand!! So stick with it and we'll soon be there!

Hope you all get your certificates soon.

You could win the lottery - just don't claim until after you get your certificate![:D]

how would they even know if you won the lottery anyway?? [:D]

I think the good and bad thing with Grant Thornton is that on one hand they're very good because of how big they are but on the other hand everything takes longer because of the volume they deal with. That's the impression I'm getting.

If they check your bank statements or credit records, then they would know.[:D][:D]

However, if you won the lottery you could afford to pay it all off in full anyway..........and don't forget your best mates on here![:D][:D][:D]
