				Hi
We have our creditors meeting next Tuesday but over the last 2 days we have received 3 default notices through the post - what do we do? With everything else we had in post i just added it to a folder to send off to Mel if she needed it but this feels more serious.
I have taken all phone calls from all our creditors and continually explained our situation (although i did have to avoid one so i gave incorrect data protection information and they said they couldnt talk to me, made me smile, bit too easy that one!)
Do i just sit tight for the creditors meeting or must I do something else??
Thanks in advance for any replies xx

Ignore the default notices as they are a requirement for the bank to send. Just send them to Melanie as they are of no consequence at all and good luck with your meeting of creditors.

				Hi
I found a few of my creditors defaulted me shortly before my IVA was agreed, it may be a positive sign
              Good luck

				I disagree,
Check through the legality of these notices, as once lodged on your credit file, you will face an almight battle to get them removed.
These are just as bad as having as many Bankruptcy Orders on your file!!!!
After an IVA and BR, This is my new nightmare......
You have been warned.....

They stay on your credit file for six years and the banks must issue them to those who defaulted. It is as simple as that and there is nothing sinister.

As long as they hit before your IVA is agreed or shortly after you have nothing to be concerned about because your credit record is clobbered for six years because of the IVA. They should all fall off about the same time leaving you clear.
There can be a problem if they are registered well after your IVA as they will stay on for six years and affect your credit record even when the IVA has fallen off
                Regards

				Hi Clairbare.
Time flies - I can't believe it is your creditors meeting next week.
We have just started to receive default notices from our missed payments too. We also received a county court claim form too. Melanie told us to not worry about it as we will be in no worse position once the IVA has gone through.
I would just send them to Melanie as you did your other letters and statements.

				Andy,
What course of action can you take if these default notices are registered after your IVA has been approved?

Tell the creditors or the credit rating agencies to take them off.

Yes, so pleased we have a date but still can't stop fretting that it may be declined - suppose its only human nature xx

No Clairbare - we have just had our file marked as complete yesterday so still up to 3 weeks to wait for the draft proposals.
I'm sure it is human nature to be worrying but I'm sure it will be fine.
I'll keep everything crossed for you (except for my eyes - can't keep em crossed that long lol) Good Luck next week x

				Hi
 Sinking Fast
You can contact each creditor and ask them to move the default date to that of your IVA, also contact the credit agencies with this request. If they will not comply you can contact the Information Commissioners Officer and make a complaint

                   Regards

				Good luck for today.
Just reading other points on this post, is it worth looking at my credit files now to see whether there are any defaults post IVA approval date and have them removed or should I just wait until the end?
