Hi i;m in my fourth year of an IVA but my job role has changed to a more feild based role. Now the company are saying keep your receipts and claim back your expenses (fuel, hotel, food, drink costs). Being in a IVA money is very tight and i can't afford to pay for these upfront even though they will give the money back within 7 days once my expense form is handed in, could i beable to get a credit card with a small limit so i can use purely for work purposes (and pay of balance asap) if not i wil have to look for another job[:(]

hey dips welcome

are you able to inform your ip of this new occurrance ?

it may be better to see if they can do some kind of variation rather than incur more credit.

if you want to get one you will need your ips permission first but why not discuss this with them first you may be surprised keep posting x

Hi Dips and welcome to the forum.

It is unlikely that you would be able to get a credit card at all as your credit rating would be shot, but you would need permission anyway.

I take it that your company don't have a credit card at all?

You could speak to your IP and possibly take a payment break for a month in order to build up some contingency for this?

Hi Dips

While I was in my IVA my company withdrew our company credit cards and I was able to get a card from Vanquis with my supervisors permission and once every 3 months I had to email a scanned copies of my credit card statements to show it was paid off in full every month.

So maybe you could ask your supervisor if its OK and then try Vanquis.

You could try Vanquis, but there have been posters on here who have been turned down recently.
