Hi All,

I came across this forum a while back but thought I could get out of my debt sitation.

However, last 3 weeks I finally woke up and realised that I cannot borrow my way out of trouble and faced facts.

I felt ashamed and quite small that I saw the whole world surviving quite happily but I was hiding this secret huge debt of mine but still also trying to survive.

I finally contacted CCCS while at the same time rediscovering this great forum. I have seen that I am not alone, and also realised that I want to take control and structure my finances how they should have been those years ago.

I feel relieved for accepting I have a problem with debt but I am very nervous for the next few weeks while I try to see if an IVA is my way back to a normal life!

This is a fantastic forum with posts from people going through the same stuff and with posts from professionals who can advise.

I will be a regular visitor now.

Hi Craig and welcome from me too.
Hopefully the CCCS can resolve your problems but there is no harm in taking a second opinion. Most IP firms offer free advice and it may be worthwhile seeing if this is the same advice as the CCCS give out.

I realised one night when I watched my kids sleep, how innocent they were and how my actions could be costing them in the future. It's strange how realization suddenly catches your guard, I really want to do the right thing.

I have read your posts in detail, which is why I also have contacted another IP for their advice. Not sure if I'm allowed to say but I saw Melanie has helped alot of people on this forum so hopefully she can advise me too.

I'll definitely keep you all posted as I know I have been reading other people's experience which has helped me think things through.

Hi Craigdaddy - its funny how moments just suddenly hit you - glad you have got to a point of feeling ready to deal with things now. Hopefully by the time your kids are ready to manage their own money you will have taught them everything they need to know about budgeting and managing the pennies!
