Hi All,
we feel well on our way now, got our proposal and all looks ok, no surprises and well written and easy to understand, have sent it back all duly signed and got to use my shiney new NatWest card reader to make my provisional 1st payment. so hopefully we will shortly get a meeting date and fingers crossed.
we have been invited to go on a short (weekend) break with some friends just down to Tenby. This would be a trip on our motorcycles and a cheapish stay at a biker friendly hotel. This won't cost much and we have looked carefully at our budgeting and by using our hobbie and fuel allowance should be covered as it's not till the end of May. would this be considered a bit of an extravagence so early (assuming IVA gets accepted)? . does anyone else manage to do short holidays / breaks while in IVA ?

Hi
Go off and enjoy yourself, as long as you can afford it then no one will be keeping tabs on you.
Good luck with your proposal
Regards

If you can afford it from your allowances then go for it! 5 years is a long time with no breaks, and a lot of people who post on here use the Sun holiday vouchers and things like that.
Go and enjoy!!!

Hi Darkdog. Have a great trip and do not feel the slightest guilty.
Quick biker joke for you.
A biker goes to the doctor with hearing problems.
"Can you describe the symptoms to me?" asked the doctor.
"Yes. Homer is a fat yellow lazy b*****d and Marge is a skinny bird with big blue hair."

Oh I do miss the Peoples' jokes! We used to get a new one every day in the Londonderry office when I worked with him - and some of them were really bad!!!
To Darkdog - Tenby is my old stomping ground (brought up in Pembrokeshire) so you go and both enjoy it. Treats like this are far more enjoyable when they are saved up for, and after the stress you have had in recent months you absolutely deserve it too.

Thanks for all the kind posts of support (as if I expected anything different

)
yea, checking budget, working out fuel cost etc will make it OUR treat and NOT Mr debts.
Mel, will try and leave Tenby as we found it when May comes, looking forward to it, have not used the bike much due to weather and don't bounce to well these days

We are also having a break later this year but what we asked for our birthdays from our parents was the cost of a hotel room etc instead and all we gotta do is get our spends!! All within budget and they would have spent the money on other things that we do not need like perfume etc so its all going to a good cause [:D] I will surely need a break after this!

That's a great idea - and something that you will really enjoy together rather than presents you would not necessarily have bought four yourself.

I find myself asking for ever more practical presents these days, my family sometimes do look a little confused.
