well i had my face to face yesterday evening with a rep for my iva company and my proposal has now gone back...tbh i cant belive how fast its all happening it feels like a lifetime of debt adn worry it been rounded up in a whirlwind it does feel good. as does the fact that even though its not a lot but the money in my pocket is mine and and can do what i want or need to with it rather than paying a bit of this and that.
i did have 1 debtor call yesterday for 53.00 to clear the debt i said as they were listed in the proposal i would be unfair to treat them preferentialy. i was right in doing that wasnt i?

Hi Simon,
Yes you were right. All of your creditors are now included in your proposal and you can't treat any of them differently otherwise the others won't be happy!
Glad it's all moving forward and hopefully you will have a date soon.

Hi Simon and welcome to the forum,
Yes as Kallis says you did the right thing not paying the creditor. Futhermore, when creditors know you are proposing an IVA they are aware you cannot favour one over another.
Great that its moving fast for you, hopefully you'll get your creditors meeting soon and look forward to becoming debt free.
Good luck and please keep us updated. Its great to follow someones journey as everyone is so different, we all learn something new.
xx

Good for you Simon, you seem to have your head around life in an IVA already [:)] Bet your eldest will love it and believe me you get so much more okleasure buying things out of love rather than just splashing the cash.
How many children have you got? It can be tough being in an IVA when there's children involved, but so many posters are in the same postition so plenty of tips available.

A good thing to do is online surveys - you can earn either cash, vouchers or both.#
They pay for my Christmas!

ill have a look at the on line surveys ive always steered clear of them in the past as i thought they were just a way of getting loads of spam emails

I've got girls so prob won't be much help on the boy front. but others will [:)] Is the 15yr old aware of your money situation?
I do the surveys thanks to Jan...though I have to admit I'm not always truthful.[:I] When I was I didn't qualify, so now I second guess what they want so I earn the money.[:D]

I'm truthful and I do get to qualify for a fair few of them.
I have never had spam emails as a result of doing surveys.

All 3 of mine are aware of the money situation Simon, not that it stops them moaning but they know that we don't have cards any more and that sometimes we have to wait and save up a couple of weeksn for little things.
Thankfully they're not into designer and latest trend things!

Why sad? Growing up with an IVA will hopefully mean he appreciates the value of things more & with siblings & loving parents, a roof over his head, education & food on the table what more does he need?
I think alot of his friends may well be sadder, having all the latest gadgets but maybe no siblings or parents who work all hours?
