hi everyone, haven't posted for a while although ive been reading. We have been struggling with our iva since starting in june, the budget is so tight that i still have not been able to save anything for xmas. the end of this month i have to pay my yrly car tax, and pay borrowed money back to friend and buy more flea stuff, so we are skint again, we have struggled with food for the last few months, as i have 8 cats and a dog, the flea and worm treatment costs around £70 plus for all, but the flea stuff aint working and purchased a second lot and it still havn't worked, also two cats have been injured in the past 4 months, and two cats are sick at present, but cant offord the vet, so keeping a good eye on them, then the car cost an arm and a leg for repairs, it just hasnt stopped. my supervisor will not consider a payment break saying , "there's no such thing as a payment break", when i said that i got advice and we can take up to two payment breaks a yr, she still stood by what she said, so i suggested what if hubby lost his job, she changed her tune then, the only way i feel that i can catch up and get some sort of contingency saved is by missing a payment, but thats not allowed either, anyway to cut a long story short, Andy phoned me and gave me advise to contact my ip, well iv'e done that, but not my IP but his supervisor, she said she deals with everything and the IP just sets up the meeting with creditors and makes decisions on what way forward to go. she is sending me a new in/exp form, and i'm to detail evreything that i didnt include in the first place, but the info i was given from them was that we wern't allowed haircuts or leisre or pocket money. anyway still no immiediate light at the end of the tunnel, and have been told that it wont be sorted until the new yr, and xmas is going to be so grim, with no money for an 8yr old pressie or my other two children and grandchild, i'm feeling pretty down, but cant wait to get the xmas trimmings out. its so bad we had £50 left to buy shopping that got to last until payday, after buying cat and dog food there wasnt much left. we knew it was going to be hard learning to budget again but this is ridiculus, anyway i'll keep you informed on what happens.at present trying to sell a ruby and diamond ring, just to get xmas pressie, but not selling at moment may have to take it to pawn shop, does anyone have any ideas,m or are we all set to have children upset this xmas.

So sorry you are having such a bad time and i really hope your repayments can be reduced soon. Its a shame things have taken so long.
I know its not going to be of much consolation but remember, your child will have gifts from friends and family members too.

Which firm are you with? An IP is not someone who just sets the IVA up, but is the person responsible for all aspects of your IVA all the way through. I suggest that if you get no satisfaction with the member of staff you are dealing with that you insist on speaking to the IP directly.
Which firm are you with as a matter of interest?

Soory to hear you're having a tough time. it must be emotionally difficult for you. Hopefully, when you complete the I&E, paymnents will be reviewed.
Personally I would insist on speaking to the IP, afterall you are paying his/hers fees! If you csn't get through on the telephone, email them direct and insist they call you personally. Mention the forum and the good advice you get...I bet they phone you back then.
Good luck xx

Moneypenny you seem to be having a torrid time at the moment. I would agree that things are not supposed to be easy in an IVA, however, being left with £50 for food until payday is just ridiculous and I hope your IP see's sense and gives you a payment break. Good luck and keep asking.

Hi Moneypenny
Sorry to hear you're struggling. On the pets side of thing are you buying vet strength flea and worm treatments? Petshop stuff is next to useless so veterinary strength stuff is the way to go, you can buy Frontline and Drontal (without a prescription) from online pet pharmacies for much less than your vet would charge. I get a 6 pack of cat Frontline for £17 delivered from VetUK.
Really hope you can get back on top of things

It does sound like you're having a touch time moneypenny, I would do as others suggest and talk directly to your IP. Hope things get easier for you x

Sorry to hear about your cat Heidi, I hope he/she recovers. Great that your vet is billing the insurance company direct as well. I don't think mine would do that.

mel i'm with simple debt solutions, would i get in serious trouble if i missed a payment or partpayment?, as my car tax is needed, and if i take this from other areas, then we are skint again, my suervisor wont allow us a payment break at all.

I've just been on to my firm today and have to say that I was blown away by the response I got. Ask them for a break and get on top of things... You too might be pleasently surprised
