Not sure I understand your post Caroline? Who do you need to pay £5,000 to and what is this for?

That's for having the IVA but i presume that gets put into the IVA and payments. Also I am worried about my mortgage because my deal run out it was cheaper to stay on the variable rate but if i go for the iva and then rates increase will i be able to get the fixed rate still otherwise it would all be pointless as would then not be able to afford mortage payments. Thanks for your help and advice

You should definately not be paying anything up front to get an IVA accepted. I suggest you try another IP firm - you will find that there are many that do not ask for this.

I'm with Melanie, you should not be paying up front for anything. Have a look around before signing any paperwork. We don't charge any up front fees, and I know that there are other companies out there who don't either.
Also, make sure that you understand fully any charges that a IP is going to make before you enter an arrangement.
