Can your friend have you added onto their insurance as a named driver?

Could your friend insure it and put you on as a named driver and you pay him?

That is a possibility, as Skippy suggests.

Going to look at having the car transferred into my name and putting the car on my current policy after removing my car thats knackered from the policy(no point paying insurance for it to sit in a garage locked up!!)

Not letting it get to me. I just keep thinking that we are no worse off during a disaster like the car blowing up than we were prior to our trust deed. 2 years ago we would just have had plastic to put it on.

The future is bright, bright and free of debt.

There's a company called tempcover.com that do this. I've used them before when buying cars in order to get them home legally.

Only if the vehicle you are driving has a current insurance policy of its own. Also the third party driving of other cars is gradually being withdrawn from the insurance market.
