I have just had a phone call from Baines and Ernst stating they could offer a better deal with them, rather than the company we are with at the moment. I told him we are happy with the company we are with, as we have had our IVA for 3 years now. he just went on and on. I said I would report his company if I had any more calls. How can they cold call like that? I dont want a better deal even if they could offer one! I am just glad that we have actually managed to last 3 years

I've had a couple of letters but never a phone call, I always send a strongly worded letter to the compnay who sends the letter and have always got a reply stating they won't bother me again, I hope the phone calls don't start. It is a bit naughty in my opinion to ring you

I didnt think you could change companies whislt in an iva. What is the point in them contacting you if they know you are already in one??

the letters I've received I'm sure were just to assist me in proceeding with Bankruptcy although it doesn't actually state this.

I am surprised that you have had these calls Sophie as Baines and Ernst are as reputable company. They are not bankruptcy assist company but a DMP company who will pass you to their sister company for an IVA.
You are right - you cannot change companies.

Are you sure it was Bains & Ernst? If so, this is an grossly unacceptable way of generating business, and hopefully the representative from Blair Endersby (their sister company) who posts on the forum will be able to explain this strategy.

Hi
Are you in an IVA or DMP ?
I could possibly understand the call if you are in a DMP but certainly not if you are in an IVA

Let's hope we get some clarification on this from the BE representative. I would not be happy if they were to contact any of my clients in this manner.

I find it odd that Baines and Ernst would do this. Not heard of it before.
What company are you with sophierose?

Hi
Maybe you had an ill informed advisor contact you who did not know that you can't change IPs during the IVA period. Can't see any way that Baines and Ernst would try to remove people from an IVA.
