oops still getting the hang of this. Have been logging onto this forum for 2 weeks now since coming across it by accident but hadnt posted before now. Had already instructed Blair Endersby to initiate IVA after referral from Baines and Ernst and was slightly concerned that maybe i should have spoken to other companys as well as BE have some bad press on occasion on here. Well have just received our draft proposal from them today and they were so helpful when i rang to clarify what to do next. A guy called Carl talked me through the full proposal and said if i emailed them the scanned forms signed and completed today then they would be on to our creditors first thing in the morning. I know this is just the beginning and there is a long road to go yet but must commend what they have done for us so far. Hopefully this will continue in the months to come if our IVA is passed. We have £44000 of unsecured credit, paying £711 a month with a dividend of 57.74p/ £ and unknown equity from sale of shares to go in to fund each year for next 5 years so hopefully our creditors may look favourably on our proposal. Many many thanks to all who post on here as i was totally clueless 6 weeks ago but the advice on here is second to none and i feel a bit more aware of what to expect now. Will not be scared to post on here now so will keep on logging on

I know they have had a bad press, including from me, but I honestly think they are making a real effort to improve their service as can be shown by a couple of the threads on here this week.

Hi,

Glad you got it sorted!

BE get mixed reviews on here, as do one or two IP companies.

You need to be happy with who you choose. Five/six years is a long time to be stuck with a company who aren't working for you.

The good thing with BE is that they do post on here, and will pick up if you have any problems.

If you are happy with them, then carry on with your proposal.

I have been with BE and finally had a full and final settlement agreed with them. Advice: insist on a contact to speak to each time, and if all else fails email the IP address, which gets everything resolved.

If you're happy with BE stick with them, but if you're unsure I would recommend you speak to a couple of other companies.

Thanks Gill for your advice and will do as you suggest if any problems. I'm just looking forward to seeing a different number than Halifax come up on my caller ID. They must leave 5 or 6 messages a day but thanks to caller ID i dont have to speak to them. Have sent a letter informing them of our change of circumstances but they dont give up ringing even they must be frustrated just getting answer machine each time. Hopefully BE will sort this for us in the next week or so

I didnt realise we could change companies this far down the line and we have already paid 1 payment up front ( again i wish i'd found this forum before as i didn't realise some other companies don't do this .Will just see what happens in the next few weeks i think. I know noone can predict outcomes of IVAs but would anyone be able to give me a tiny bit of hope and see my earlier post to see if our proposal might be favourable to our creditors

can you change your mobile number, to avoid these unwanted telephone calls. My husband and i (opps sound like the queen) changed mobile numbers and home number and only person advised was the IP. It stopped the hounding and gave us piece of mind. Told family and friends it was nuscience calls and nobody thought any different. Its so worth doing if you can.

the calls are coming on the home phone thankfully and not on my mobile which i use for work. My mum knows our situation and just ignores the calls when shes here during the day with my daughter and my girls think we have been having dodgy phone calls so know not to answer phone if we say not to. Still its our fault we're in this position and hopefully it will stop soon but if they are like this with just 1 missed payment god knows what they would due if situation was worse

orchid thank you for your kind wishes and its good to know that we're not the only ones in this situation which i thought we were before finding this forum. Its taken a year to get to this point as hubby has had a loss in income for past 12 months due to recession in transport industry. Its been a big shock to the system but also a wake up call to how easy credit was to use when things are going well but how sickeningly easy it is to get to this point within a short period of time. Lesson learnt big time!

I would change your home phone number as well - it will stop the calls. They will come in thick and fast, and it does get to be a pain ignoring them.
