I am currently renting a property and now have to move to another due to maintenance issues. My concern is that when i am credit checked with new estate agents that i won't pass as I have an IVA? Any advice on anything I can do if this happens? I will be doing a joint tenancy with my partner who doesn't have an IVA. Thanks in advance.

If you use an agency you could have the checks done in your partner's name or alternatively you could apply to private landlords. Regardless, there is an oversupply of rental properties so if you produce a reference from your current landlord it should be enough for most people.

On this matter= I am also in a postion where i need to move from our curernt rented property. I have never looked beore but i checked my own credit report and my iva wasnt on there (thats 2.5 years in). Now i am not compaling and i am not about to start pointing it out to anyone
Do u think the report is ok? is this normal!
Anyway - i wonder exactly what Letting agents can view on your credit report!

When I moved between rented properties a couple of years ago, the new agent found my IVA! They asked for 6 months rent up front, plus the usual 1.5 months security deposit. Fortunately a very generous friend helped with the 6 months rent payment and I was able to move.
Not sure about the joint tenancy issue - mine was all in my name only.

Some letting agents will trawl the Insolvency Register.
One or two posters have had to put up 6 months in advance if moving property.
You can also ask your current landlord to give you a reference to say that your rent has always been up to date.
