I'm working too hard, need to take up a hobby to relieve the stress of the long hours I do (a throwback from when I tried to keep afloat). What is the IP going to say when he see the additional expense at review time?

try taking up a hobby that pays like gardening and selling plants, it will keep you fit and you can pay some of the profits into your iva.[:)].

have you tried crazy golf its a bit cheaper than the real thing, and you might have a better chance of winning.[:D]

Exactly - don't think the IP will take too kindly to golf unless you can fund it from any savings![:D]

Football is my hobby. That and my PC,and this forum and a football forum I use a lot. Without those I would be driven insane.

My husband and kids are my hobby, well I dont have any energy left after dealing with them. [:D]

My PC and my dogs are my hobby, plus reading.

I'm quite happy with that.

If golf is your thing, try and see if you can free up some funds for it. My hubby loves his golf ( and every other sport)...instead of birthday, Christmas pressies, everyone contributes to his golf membership.

I think its important to have a bit of "me" time...I hope you can find a way to fund your hobby.

I have a lot of me time and footie is my fave way of cutting off from stresses of life....I also read a lot and find solace in a bubble bath!

Going back to the original question there is no problem with a hobby and at review stage your IP should not have an issue unless it following Formula One around the world. I once had a client who paid £30 per month for a season ticket at Charlton Athletic. I put that down as medical expense!!!! But then I am a Leeds fan.

If you decide on golf can I suggest you check your local Freecycle site out. I recently gave away a set of golf clubs (ex husband's) to someone. You never know you may find some on there which will save you a few bob! Also if your Doc says you need to do something to relieve the stress if you got a letter from him/her saying this I can't see the Creditors questioning any costs involved as it would obviously be deemed a necessity!

I wish I had time for a hobby. The most I get is about 20 minutes at night when I do a bit of embroidery - I am currently making a wedding sampler. The rest of the time is spent is looking after my two little monkeys (I mean my kiddies in case anyone thinks I actually have monkeys!) But if I could do a hobby again I would do yoga - I did it for years many years ago and I loved it. I was always amazed at how I could contort my body into amazing shapes. Very relaxing too! Oooo one last idea - check your Tesco vouchers and see if you can use them towards a hobby - I know they do long distance courses. I am going to have a look at that.
